The CU Boulder Connection

Latimer Controls was founded in 2022 by Simon Julien (Applied Mathematics, '22) and Zachary Jacobs (Chemical and Biological Engineering, '21)Ìýto bring to market their innovative solar energy control system to solve the very real problem of intermittent renewable power. This technology was co-invented by Simon, working as an undergraduate and master's student in collaboration with Bri-Mathias Hodge (Electrical, Computer and Energy Engineering),ÌýAmirhossein Sajadi (Renewable and Sustainable Energy Institute (RASEI))Ìýand the National Renewable Energy Laboratory. Latimer Controls has graduated from the Techstars Alabama EnergyTech Accelerator Class of 2022, won the American Made Solar Prize, signed its first pilot with Kaua’i Island Utility CooperativeÌýand is seeking patent protection across the globe.Ìý
