- The campus is remembering Curator Emeritus Alan Cass, a decades-long and stalwart member of the community who made extraordinary contributions in a number of roles and was known for his dedication, involvement, dynamic personality and humility.
- Bob Beattie, who was the head coach of the University of Colorado's first national championship team in any sport, passed away earlier this month. He was 85.
- A professor emeritus and engineer, Frank Kreith in 2017 won the John Fritz Medal from the American Association of Engineering Societies.
- A senior at the College of Media, Communication and Information, she also was a talented lacrosse player, a three-year letter winner, who helped the Buffs program gain national recognition.
- Though their departures mark difficult losses for the CU Boulder community, we look back—in remembrance and celebration of life—honoring those who left us last year.
- Deborah Jin passed away Sept. 15, 2016, after a courageous battle with cancer. She was 47. Jin was an internationally renowned physicist and Fellow with the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST), an Adjoint Professor in the Department of Physics at CU Boulder, and a Fellow of JILA, a joint institute of NIST and the University of Colorado.
- Albert Allen Bartlett, professor emeritus of physics at CU Boulder, was remembered today as a revered teacher who had a major impact on his students, the university, Boulder and far beyond. Bartlett died at the age of 90.
