Khenpo JamyangCo-sponsored by the Tibet Himalayan Initiative, , and , Khenpo Karma Jamyang Gyaltsen of Larung Gar Monastery will speak on Monday, April 18th at 6:30pm at Shambhala Publications (4720 Walnut St, Boulder).  Khenpo Jamyang is a senior teacher at the Larung Gar Buddhist Institute in Serthar, Sichuan, part of the Tibetan area known as Kham. He is the director of training in the Kagyu tradition at Larung Gar and was designated by the 17th Karmapa, head of the Karma Kagyu tradition, to oversee the reconstruction of monasteries in Kham. He will speak on the topic of the Kagyu curriculum of Larung Gar monastery, touching upon topics such as texts used, demographics, ris med or non-sectarian training, the integration of practice and study, and so forth.
