Astrodynamics and Satellite Navigation

Pursuing: PhD

Year: 4th

Julian is a 4th year PhD student in the Astrodynamics and Satellite Navigation (ASN) focus area. Before coming to CU Boulder, he received his BS in Mechanical Engineering from the Vienna University of Technology in Austria, where he grew up. His research in Dr. Schaub’s Autonomous Vehicle Systems (AVS) lab focuses on charged astrodynamics, space debris, and guidance, navigation and control (GNC). The goals of this research are to either utilize electrostatic forces between two charged spacecraft to remove space debris from geostationary orbit, or to develop guidance strategies that mitigate the perturbing effect of such electrostatic forces and torques. In his free time he enjoys skiing, snowboarding, hiking/camping and checking out breweries. Whenever possible, he likes to bring my crazy pup Jackson to all those activities.
