Are you ready for Fall Welcome?

Fall welcome
鶹Ƶ 8,000 new students—including first year and transfer students—and their families will arrive on campus next week, marking the start of Fall Welcome. There will be many activities and events between Aug. 18 and Sept. 7 in addition to move-in. These events allow new and returning students to meet fellow Buffs, become familiar with campus resources and feel welcomed and supported at CU Boulder.

Here’s what faculty and staff need to know to prepare for Fall Welcome.

Parking and traffic

Faculty and staff will experience campus parking closures from Monday, Aug. 19, through Thursday, Aug. 22. Permit holders will receive email notification of their permitted lot or zone parking impacts from Parking Services. Only vehicles displaying “move-in” permits can access Regent Drive and Colorado Avenue (east of the Colorado Avenue/Folsom Street intersection) from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Monday, Aug. 19, through Thursday, Aug. 22.

Parking lot closures are in effect due to the increased traffic around Boulder during move-in. Opening parking lots to families helps create a more positive and efficient move-in experience for students and families. Faculty and staff are encouraged to plan alternate transportation options to get to campus or talk with their supervisor about alternate work arrangements.

Volunteers needed

Volunteers are essential to the success of Fall Welcome and move-in. The university needs enthusiastic volunteers to help welcome new students and families to campus.
