Dear Strategic Resources and Support team,
I’m excited to write this month to invite you to the inaugural “Chat with Pat” session I’ll be hosting on Nov. 2 from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. at the C4C Flatirons Room (3rd Floor). This is an informal opportunity for us to gather. I’ll provide some brief SRS updates, but mostly I want to meet more of you, hear from you and answer your questions.
Feel free to join for the entire session or come and go for a quick chat and refreshments. If you’re unable to attend, please know that I will also be visiting all-staff meetings for every SRS unit this fall, and my intent is to host a Chat with Pat at least once a semester in different locations and formats to continue connecting with as many of you as possible. Please also share this invite broadly with those in your units who may not have access to computers during the work day.
A few other notes and news from around SRS:
- New leadership: Later this month, new Chief Financial Officer Todd Haggerty and new Chief People Officer Robyn Fergus will officially join our team. I’m excited for the leadership and expertise they’ll bring to our campus and hope you’ll join me in welcoming them.
- Civic involvement: Our Strategic Relations and Communications team has partnered with our Office of Government and Community Engagement to create a landing page for Election 2022 resources. As Chancellor DiStefano noted in his State of the Campus address, each of us has a role to play in sustaining our democracy and voting is one of the most important ways we can all participate.
- Enhancing DEI: The leaders of each of your units are in the process of meeting with our campus Diversity, Equity and Inclusion consultants to create road maps for how all departments will prioritize DEI in their work over the coming year. I’m excited for these discussions to continue this fall and to share more information on the outcomes as the work is completed.
- Mental health awareness: With a number of mental health awareness initiatives during the month of October, I encourage everyone to seek resources related to your own self care as well as how to support your friends, family and colleagues. Our Health and Wellness Services team has published a piece on 9 wellness activities on campus for staff and faculty.
I hope each of you is well and want all of you to know how grateful I am for your contributions to this university.
With gratitude,
Pat
P.S. Don’t forget to "stamp"your Employee Passport each time you or other engagement on campus for a chance to win one of 11 prizes at the end of the semester.
