Dr. Scott Schwartz has been a speech language pathologist for more than 35 years. He currently works for the Boulder Valley School District and teaches the graduate level class on speech sound disorders at CU-Boulder.
Scott received his M.A. degree from Ohio University and his Ph.D. from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. Scott taught in the Boston Public Schools, and the Madison Metropolitan School District in Wisconsin before moving to Boulder in 1995.
Scott has with worked with students from preschool through high school. He has always worked with and learned from individuals with significant disabilities as well as those with speech sound or language disorders. Scott’s interests include autism spectrum disorder, the impact of poverty on academic achievement, and trauma informed care.  Scott was a district autism consultant for 4 years focused on teaching others about autism and providing appropriate programming for individual students. Scott continues to teach in an elementary school in Boulder and enjoys the balance and contrast between working in the public schools and teaching graduate students.
