Who Received This Email?
We sent this email at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday, July 29, 2020, to currentMain Campus and Continuing Education students and incoming graduate students (not law).

The New Student and Family Programs Office communicates with incoming first-year undergraduates and transfer students.

We have completed the majority of updates to the fall schedule of classes to meet the health and safety goals that will enable our return to campus.

This includes automatic adjustments to class meeting times, locations and instruction modes to accommodate increased passing periods and appropriate physical distancing. Departments may have canceled some classes or reassigned faculty in order to prioritize course offerings that support progress towards degree completion.

鶹Ƶ Online, Remote & Hybrid Instruction Modes

Due to physical distancing requirements, some classes have shifted from in-person instruction to online, remote or hybrid instruction. For definitions, see our Search for Classes FAQs.

Your Next Steps

To give you more time to update your schedule, the schedule adjustment period for undergraduate degree-seeking students to Monday, Aug. 3, and the open enrollment period for all students to Monday, Aug. 10.

We recommend completing the following tasks before Aug. 3:

  1. Review your adjusted schedule carefully. If you’re not sure how to move forward, or if you have time conflicts or want to adjust the number of in-person classes you have, schedule an advising appointment to discuss your options.

  2. Clear any holds that will prevent you from registering, including the new COVID-19 online course hold.

  3. so you’re ready to go on Aug. 3.

While registering for classes:

  1. Finish enrolling one of two ways: the way you’re used to (“standard”) or through the new CU Boulder Class Search registration beta (“beta”).

  2. If a class is closed, join the waitlist and use the drop if enrolled option on a back-up class. See below for important information about waitlisting for in-person and hybrid in-person classes.

鶹Ƶ In-Person and Hybrid In-Person Classes

If you’re enrolled in a hybrid class with in-person instruction, you can expect to have both an in-person meeting schedule and either a remote meeting schedule (remote) or online coursework to complete between in-person class meetings (online). Watch your CU Boulder email for more information from the instructor or department on their system for rotating attendance before classes begin.

If you want to waitlist for an in-person or hybrid in-person class, be sure to do so by 5 p.m. on Monday, Aug. 17. After that date, in-person and hybrid-in person class waitlists will stop accepting new students (other waitlists will continue to function normally) to allow instructors or departments time to communicate with you about first-day attendance expectations.

We look forward to welcoming you back for classes this fall!
