RASEI Students Receive Fellowship awards from NSF, DOE and DOD
This week seven RASEI students were recognized for their commitment to research through the awarding of graduate research fellowships from both the National Science Foundation, the Department of Energy Office of Science and the National Defense Science and Engineering Program.
The purpose of the NSF Graduate Research Fellowship (NSF-GRF) is to help ensure the quality, vitality, and diversity of the scientific and engineering workforce of the United States. The program recognizes and supports outstanding graduate students who are pursuing full-time research-based master’s and doctoral degrees in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics. The program was established to recruit and support individuals who demonstrate the potential to make significant contributions in STEM.
This year four RASEI students were awarded an NSF-GRF:
- Olivia Bird (Dukovic Group)
- Benjamin Hammel (Dukovic Group)
- Dylan Ladd (Toney Group)
- Marena Trujilo (Hodge Group)
The DOE Office of Science Computational Science Graduate Fellowship (DOE-CSGF) was established in 1991 and provides outstanding benefits and opportunities to students pursuing doctoral degrees in fields that use high-performance computing to solve complex science and engineering problems.
This year one RASEI student was awarded the DOE-CSGF:
- Fiona Majeau (Hodge Group)
The DOD National Defense Science and Engineering Graduate Fellowship Program (DOD-NDSEG) promotes education in science and engineering disciplines relevant to the Defense mission through awarding fellowships to encourage promising U.S. scientists to pursue doctoral degrees in designated research disciplines.
This year two RASEI students were awarded a DOD-NDSEG:
- Collin Sindt (Marder and Toney Groups)
- Noah Smith (Marder and White Groups)
Congratulations Folks!
