Teaching writing at CU Boulder is the best job I’ve ever had. Being an effective communicator is essential for success in life and I delight in encouraging students on their path to more effective written communication. I draw on my philosophical training to make First Year Writing and Rhetoric a process of self-discovery where students grow as thinkers and writers. As a long-time yogi, I like to offer “one minute of yoga” in the classroom to help my stressed-out students pause, take a breath, and smile. Also uplifting to their spirits is my unofficial therapy dog, Cha-Cha, who can be seen romping around campus with me from time to time.
