CU Psychology and Neuroscience professor Tor Wager (Cognitive) was in the popular press for a recent publication regarding the placebo effect and Parkinson's disease. This research, done in collaboration with colleagues at Columbia University, demonstrated that Parkinson's patients who believed they were getting medication to alleviate their symptoms performed as well on a reward learning task as patients who had received actual medication.
