Demonstration of an interactive art experience. The Green Machine is a “seed kiosk” where users pick seed packets, scan them into a digital device, and interact with 3D models of each packet’s plant contents.
The Green Machine
The interactive experience of the Green Machine is a user-centered project where individuals can choose their own adventure by picking from different seed packets arranged on the display stand. After doing so, they can place the packets on the labeled scanner in order to activate the touch screen next to the other project elements. Once scanned in, users can manipulate the 3D model(s) that appear with simple screen gestures. Each 3D model will correspond with the contents of each seed packet in order to give the individual an in-depth look at the plant, as well as supply additional information through text that can be toggled on and off with a button. They can zoom in/out of the model and rotate it in order to view all angles of the design. This exploration can be repeated as desired with the other seed packets as well.
