Graduated with PhD 2015

I am a discourse analyst who is interested in communication problems, both practical problems that people face when they try to do things with words and social problems that are (re)produced and challenged in discourse. My primary research looks at problems around disability rights. I am interested in discourses of difference, disability, and human rights, and how different discourses facilitate or impede social change. I am also interested in how everyday theories about ways of being and communicating evident in these discourses can inform more formal theories of communication.
