Colorado Springs voters appear to approve recreational marijuana sales, but questions remain

Colorado Springs voters narrowly approve Ballot Question 300, legalizing recreational marijuana sales, while rejecting a competing measure, ballot issue 2D, which sought to ban such sales. This outcome allows existing medical marijuana shops to sell recreational marijuana under dual licenses, maintaining current numbers, and directing tax revenue toward public safety, mental health, and veterans' PTSD programs. However, legal uncertainties persist, as a city council zoning ordinance bans recreational marijuana sales within a mile of sensitive sites.
