Defended thesis and graduated (5/2024) ~~~ Brief Bio:ÌýWhile establishing a career as a Water Resources Engineer at ,ÌýElizabeth Simon joined CU Boulder in Fall 2022 andÌýthe Oceans & Climate Lab in Spring 2023 as a graduateÌýstudent pursuing a Master's in Civil, Environmental and Architectural EngineeringÌýwith a specialization in Hydrology, Water Resources & Environmental Fluid Mechanics. Following her B.SÌýin Civil Engineering from ,ÌýElizabeth worked in water resources engineering in California. Elizabeth has alsoÌýparticipated in projects in Thailand and Puerto Rico. Her interests includeÌýthe intersection of water, climate change resiliency, and policy.
Elizabeth will be developing a high-resolutionÌýmodel of the circulation within the , with applications toÌýclimate change adaptation, conservation policy, and evolutionary biology. This project is directly motivated by the interdisciplinary needs ofÌýtheÌýIsland Systems Integration Consortium Research Coordination Network (), a consortium of geologists, climatologists, and biologists, and will involve collaborations with the doctoral research of group member Mikell Warms.ÌýFunding for Elizabeth's participation in this research project in the Oceans & Climate Lab is provided by theÌýCenter for Social and Environmental Futures (), part of theÌýCooperative Institute for Research in Environmental Sciences () at CU Boulder.ÌýIn her spare time, Elizabeth enjoys outdoor activities and traveling.
