As part of our dean's vision to develop what he calls the "universal musician," the College of Music continually strives to revise and refine its programming and activities to ensure a flexible, well-rounded education and experiences that prepare our students for varied, non-traditional careers. Take Ingrid Anderson, who's double majoring in violin performance and neuroscience: The College of Music senior and president of the College of Music Student Government expects to graduate in May 2022 and ultimately plans to pursue a career in medicine 鈥� along the way, she's "playing violin whenever I can!" • The Museum of Boulder has partnered with the College of Music to create a pop-up exhibit exploring the history of the college's first 100 years. The exhibit, "Music Buffs: A Century of Music at CU," also features the stories of some of our most iconic music venues on campus, as well as famous CU alumni. The exhibit opens to the public today, Oct. 7, with an opening reception on Saturday, Oct. 16 (); the exhibit runs through Nov. 28.
• On Oct. 11, our听American Music Research Center听(AMRC) presents 鈥淎 community without a band, is a community without a soul.鈥� Join us for this free, public talk with Dr. X贸chitl C. Ch谩vez (University of California, Riverside) as part of our 2021-2022 Musicology and Music Theory Colloquium Series.
• On Oct. 15, the听AMRC听presents 鈥淏orders/Boundaries/Fronteras: Rethinking American Music.鈥� Join us in person or via Zoom for this free symposium bringing together leading scholars in American music studies to explore the ways that borders鈥攚hether geographic, political, social, sonic, performative or temporal鈥攊mpact music, music making, musical reception and musical meaning.
• Health + Wellness Summit (Oct. 12-15): for CU faculty, staff and students interested in learning more about the university's holistic approach to health and wellness, and about available programs and services.

• Join the campus community in reading American Like Me: Reflections on Life Between Cultures, this year's selection for the Buffs One Read. Get a copy of the book and engage with fellow Buffs in a series of workshops hosted by University Libraries.听
