As a musician, educator, researcher and entrepreneur, Marilyn Brock bridges multiple disciplines and combines her expertise in music and business to spark dialogues and innovation in today’s music world. Currently a lecturer at the Â鶹ÊÓƵ College of Music’s Entrepreneurship Center for Music, Brock also holds an adjunct faculty position teaching arts entrepreneurship at the University of Denver’s Daniels College of Business where she is a PhD candidate. With a Master of Business Administration (University of Denver), a Master of Arts in musicology (University of Denver) and a Bachelor of Music in voice (Pittsburg State University), her career has encompassed a diverse range of academic, nonprofit, for-profit and performance roles.

Brock has facilitated fundraising and event management for various performing arts organizations, including Seattle Opera, Canto Deo Choirs, the Boulder Philharmonic and others. As a vocalist, Brock has performed in venues across the United States and Europe, including New York City’s renowned David Geffen Hall.

With a passion for expanding access to the arts and supporting community initiatives, Brock has volunteered with several arts organizations in the Denver Metro Area. Previous positions held include Marketing Committee Chair for the Colorado Symphony Associate Board, as well as Treasurer and Director of Finance and Development for Nebula Ensemble which she successfully established as a federally recognized nonprofit.Ìý

Brock has been a speaker at multiple University of Denver events where she has addressed topics such as sexism in entrepreneurship, SCFD government funding of the arts in Colorado and business career development. Currently, Brock also serves as a board member of the Rose Andom Center where, in collaboration with Opera Colorado, she recently spearheaded new educational and outreach initiatives examining themes of violence against women in opera libretti.

In her free time, Brock enjoys hiking Colorado’s gorgeous mountain trails, attending local concerts, wine tasting, traveling and pampering her rescue cat, Fenice.Ìý
