Pay, hoursÌýand benefits:Ìý

• Flexible work scheduleÌý
• $17.00/hour starting wage with opportunities for pay increases after two semestersÌý
• Accrue sick leave at a rate of 0.034 hours for every hour worked
• Earn a training certification from the College Reading & Learning Association (CRLA) Level 1Ìý

Tutoring responsibilities:Ìý

• Provide in-person and virtual tutoring for small group and one-on-one sessionsÌýÌý
• Help students improve their knowledge of course material
• Help students develop more effective study skillsÌý
• Help students foster independent learningÌý
• Provide a comfortable and supportive learning environmentÌý
• Maintain consistent communication with ASAP staff including the program manager and the head tutor mentorsÌý
• Maintain consistent communication with students through the scheduling platform, PenjiÌý
• Notify ASAP staff if any questions or issues arise with tutoring groups and students

Training and additional responsibilities:ÌýÌý

• Attend the virtual tutor mentor training and orientation August 14-16
• Attend all ASAP trainings on a bi-weekly basisÌý
• Attend end of semester evaluations 1x a semesterÌý
• In conjunction with your head tutor mentor participate in tutor mentor observationsÌý
• Contribute in a positive way to the ASAP communityÌýÌý
• Complete online trainings as time allowsÌý
• Occasionally provide support to ASAP for promotional events, drop-in tutoring or additional academic support events as they occur
• Adhere to the University Honor CodeÌý
• Take part in opportunities to give/receive feedback via evaluations, assessments and surveysÌý

Minimum qualifications:Ìý

• A minimum cumulative 3.0+ GPAÌýand 3.2+ GPA in tutoring courses
• Full time CU Boulder student, who is at least a sophomore (minimum of 12 credits)
• Passionate about course content with a desire to share with other studentsÌýÌýÌý
• Express excitement about making a difference in students’ livesÌý
• Interest in being a mentor, especially to first-year studentsÌý
• Desire to teach/share study skills for students’ own successÌýÌý
• Work with limited supervisionÌý
• University student conduct record will be reviewedÌýand background checks are requiredÌý

Preferred qualifications:Ìý

• Willing and able to tutor for at least two semestersÌý
• Prior experience leading or mentoring peersÌý
• Strong customer service skills and the ability to work with people from diverse backgroundsÌý

Hours:Ìý

• Work hours scheduled between 9 a.m.Ìýand 10 p.m.ÌýSunday through Saturday (availability set by tutor mentor)Ìý
• Required to have a minimum of five hours/week of availabilityÌýÌý
• Attend paid in-person bi-weekly tutor mentor trainings on Wednesdays from 5-6 p.m.
• Not required to work during university holidays or during finals week
