David Milner

  • M.S. Student
  • DEPARTMENT OF CIVIL, ENVIRONMENTAL, AND ARCHITECTURAL ENGINEERING

Education Background

David received his B.S. in Architecture from the University of Maryland – College Park in 2020. As an undergrad at UMD he conducted research under Prof. Ming Hu in the areas of net zero energy feasibility, indoor environmental analysis, and public health in the built environment. David worked as a research assistant on three separate funded and published projects: a meta-analysis of net zero feasibility in the US, a cross-sectional analysis of carbon neutrality in medium-sized office buildings, and a correlational comparison of energy expenditures and COVID-19 infection rates in Washington DC. In addition to his independent research, David worked as a mechanical design intern at MIT and helped found the Brain, Architecture, and Virtual Reality (BRAVR) Lab.

Research Interests

Net zero energy design, energy modelling, renewable energy implementation, ecological modelling, biomimetic design, public health in the built environment, environmental policy
