Why I chose to pursue a PhD

During my undergraduate education, I wanted to find a way to combine my interest in structural engineering with my passion for helping people. Through minoring in Global Poverty and Practice, I was given the opportunity to directly apply my knowledge to interdisciplinary poverty alleviation projects. I decided to pursue a PhD at CU Boulder to directly go into the research field that I was most excited about.
