Welcome to the website of the Adaptive Memory Lab, directed by Dr. Roland Benoit. Research in the lab considers memory not primarily as a retrospective activity that allows us to revisit the past. Instead, we seek to understand it as an adaptive capacity that prepares us for the future.
To examine the adaptive nature of memory, we combine novel behavioral procedures with functional magnetic resonance imaging, complemented by psychophysiology, transcranial magnetic stimulation, modelling, and neuropsychological studies.
