Peter Hutchins WoodÌýis theÌýauthor ofÌýBlack Majority: Negroes in Colonial South Carolina from 1670 through the Stono RebellionÌý(1974), whichÌýhas been described as one of the most influential books on the history of theÌýAmerican SouthÌýof the past 50 years.ÌýHe is a professor emeritusÌýatÌýÌýin North Carolina, and an adjunct professor at the Â鶹ÊÓƵ.
