Catherine Ambler received her PhD (2022) from Columbia University in the Department of Middle Eastern, South Asian, and African Studies. Her research focuses on early modern Persian poetry and intellectual history. Before coming to CU Boulder, she taught at Simmons University in Boston. In the classroom, she especially loves to teach seminars focused on exploring interdisciplinary texts and works of art. As new faculty in the Herbst program, she is excited to read literary and philosophical works with students in the College of Engineering & Applied Science, and to bring out ways in which these works are in conversation with technological and scientific concerns.听听
