Paloma SuárezÌýDavila

  • Undergraduate Researcher
  • DEPT. OF MECHANICAL ENGINEERING

Â鶹ÊÓƵ:

Paloma is a senior-year undergraduate student in the CU Boulder/CMU Engineering Partnership Program, pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering. She is an international student from Madrid, Spain and wants to pursue a PhD in biomedical engineering after graduation. Paloma is a math and engineering dynamics tutor, and is involved in SWE, and Go Baby Go (a program that provides adapted ride-on cars for children with limited mobility). In her free time, she enjoys running, mountain biking, reading, and exploring the Colorado outdoors!

Research:

Paloma’s research focuses on computational modeling of self-diffusiophoretic motion and the way solute concentration gradients drive the motion of micro-scale objects. Her current work involves modeling Purcell swimmers and analyzing the drag on a slender rod parallel to a plane wall, aiming to better understand microscale propulsion and hydrodynamic interactions.
