What's been the best opportunity for you at CU?Â
The best opportunity for me at CU was being able to meet other students with similar interests and ambitions. I think it is important to surround yourself with people who will push you and who are supportive of your future plans!
How has the scholarship helped you?
The Buffalo Bicycle Classic Scholarship has given me the opportunity to attend college, as it will put me in a position to succeed and further a lifelong dream of mine, which is to work in the medical field.
How has COVID-19 changed school for you?
Virtual learning during the pandemic was mentally and emotionally draining. I was in constant worry to maintain my grades while wondering if I would be able to excel in my academics learning in this new format. It took some adjusting but I established methods that would help me succeed. I organized my school work and made sure to stay focused in this new life that everyone had to get used to for the time being. I also made sure to continue to take part in the clubs that allowed me to help the underserved.
What are your future plans?
After I get my bachelor’s degree, I plan on applying to the University of Colorado College of Nursing. Afterwards, I anticipate working bedside to gain a couple of years of experience. To further my career, I will get my Masters in Nursing degree to become a nurse practitioner. Ultimately, I want to work as a Nurse Practitioner in bedside before switching into aesthetic nursing.
