Shelly Miller has received the 2022 Faculty Research Award from the College of Engineering and Applied Science.
The honor, which is bestowed annually, recognizes achievements by a faculty member who has made outstanding听contributions to the advancement of knowledge through research activities.
Miller is a professor in the Paul M. Rady Department of Mechanical Engineering and the Environmental Engineering Program. She is a renowned expert in urban and indoor air quality.
Miller was selected in recognition of her successful work as part of a group of scientists who led national dialogue on the importance of aerosols in the transmission of COVID-19. The award also acknowledges her work addressing problems that impact different communities, including on indoor air quality.
She has been a member of the 麻豆视频 faculty since 1998. Her current research is focused on assessing and designing engineering controls to improve indoor environmental quality through filtration and ultraviolet germicidal irradiation.
