Professor Van Boven's research lies at the intersection of social psychology,听environmental psychology, and political psychology. He examines the social,听emotional, and cognitive processes that shape judgments and decisions in听environmental and political contexts. Professor Van Boven is Principal听Investigator of the Emotion, Judgment, Decision, and Identity lab, which听includes two faculty, several doctoral students, and undergraduate research听assistants. Professor Van Boven has continuous external funding from the听National Science Foundation and the Templeton Foundation. He has been an听invited speaker at major universities in North America, Europe, and the听United Kingdom. In addition to writing for academic audiences, Professor听Van Boven has written about psychology, politics, and the environment for听the New York Times, Los Angeles Times, Politico, and The Washington Post.
