Be kind, relax, and stop taking life too seriously.
What year are you and what is your major? &²Ô²ú²õ±è;
I'm a senior in product design
Where are you from?
New York
What inspired you to come to ENVD?
I was leaving the Navy and was looking for a fresh start. I wanted to go back to school for a career that had a lot of growth for the future. ENVD seemed like the perfect choice for a sustainable career. &²Ô²ú²õ±è;
Describe a typical studio day for you.
Studio days are long days. I get to school at 8 am every day. I work on projects until 9 am, and then I start my teacher's assistant position for the EPOD 1110 Lighting class. I focus my mentorship on empowering my peers to trust their design instincts and have confidence in what they create. My studio (EPOD 3100) starts right after. Both studios are at the CINC. On Mondays, we start with sketching before getting into teams and working on our products. This semester our studio is a market-based design course and my team worked on reusability and upcycling outdoor/adventure gear. We made drinking koozies with local 14ers embroidered on them. We just sold our products at the Firefly Market in November. I end studio days working at the CLC and going home around 7 pm. 11-hour days, woot!
What has been one of your favorite memories so far, this academic year/or throughout your time at ENVD?
I really enjoy working at the Creative Lab Center and helping fellow students with their projects. It's always fun to work through fabrication problems and see the end results. &²Ô²ú²õ±è; &²Ô²ú²õ±è;
