Tales of love, lust, jealousy, and betrayal; mirth and mischief; greed and murder; revenge, mercy, and redemption: welcome to the world of Shakespeare! We’ll encounter villainous kings, evil usurpers, and even a few charismatic heroes, as well as ill-fated lovers, deceitful rogues, social outcasts, wise fools, witty servants, and unruly women. Â鶹ÊÓƵ why Shakespeare’s characters continue to enthrall readers and viewers over 400 years after their first stage performances!

Readings will include: A Midsummer Night’s Dream, The Merchant of Venice, Richard III, Hamlet, Measure for Measure, Othello, and The Tempest. We’ll visit CU’s Special Collections Department to see early modern texts, artifacts, and students' projects. And, you’ll create and present your own Shakespeare project to the class!
