Dear CU EngineeringÌýstudents,
As you return to campus this month, I want to welcome you back. It is my hope that during the spring semester, you will reunite with friends, build upon concepts learned during the fall, and continue to engage in new ways of thinking. All of these experiences are important to your socialization in CEAS. Your college experience has been less than ideal givenÌýthe challenges with the COVID-19 pandemic. However, we have many resources to help you navigate these challenges as you persist through your degree programs and manage your coursework.
Consequently, having a growth mindset, perseverance and resilience will lead you along a path of successÌýandÌýultimatelyÌýto your educational goal:Ìýan engineering degree. Your future will be guided by how you navigate this experience and the decisions you make during this journey. You are now independent learners and are responsible for taking advantage of the resources available to you in engineering and at CU. My unit, Access, Inclusion and Student Programs, is here to assist you with achieving academic, personal and professional success. We have several resources to help you in your journey to an engineering degree and career. Please take a look at the following program websites and reach out to our staff with questions on how you can get involved or receive services:
I am thrilled that you have chosen to return to campus to continue your undergraduate career at CU Boulder. Like any normal time, there are significant pressures to perform well academically, to make connections with your peers and to be recognized by your instructors. With all of these demands, please take time to prioritize your well-being. When feasible, take study breaks, exercise, meditate, participate in activities, and last but not least, get some fresh air.
Ìý
Have a great spring semester!
Ìý
Sincerely,

Apply for CO Science and Engineering Policy Fellowship
Apply now to join the 2021 class of the Colorado Science & Engineering Policy Fellowship. For the past three years, the fellowship has given talented STEM students policy-making experience and a broadened understanding of the connection between STEM disciplines and lawmaking.
Over the course of the summer, each fellow will learn about the legislative process, conduct their own research project, and ultimately pitch their own legislation. While you're conducting your research, you are also given access to leaders in government and industry.Ìý
The fellowship runs for eight weeks from June to August. With the generous support of several Colorado foundations and companies, the program offers a $4,000 stipend for each student’s living expenses and covers administration and programming expenses throughout the session. The application window will close on April 2.
