Black engineering students who are currently or were previously enrolled in the Department of Chemical and Biological Engineering or Department of Mechanical Engineering are invited to participate.This study aims to understand the departmental practices, interactions and factors that influence the听decision听to stay or leave their engineering major.

The study includes two, 1-2 hour interviews听and two follow-up review sessions (1 after each interview). The goal is听to learn about ways to improve the engineering departments鈥� environment to support the retention of Black engineering students.

The Campus Master Plan project team has launched an interactive mapping exercise to help provide insights related to how people use space on and off campus to inform how we will grow and adapt. Your responses now will help shape a 10-year planning effort.听Please take a few minutes to participate in the exercise and make听sure our engineering community is represented.

The College of Arts & Sciences is offering听the opportunity to enroll in a small class for the spring with faculty who specialize in teaching first-year students. Many of these courses will be taught in-person.听There are numerous courses to choose from, but you鈥檒l want to make sure they count for your degree requirements before registering. Many of these courses count for your听H&SS or other courses. Tip: Look for courses that are in the Gen Ed Arts & Humanities, or Social Sciences category as these count for your engineering H&SS requirements. If you see a class you want to take that is in a different category, look at your degree audit to see if it might count or ask your advisor.

To register, make sure you are logged in with your CU identikey and look at 听list听of courses. Follow the directions you see on the sheet to register. These courses will open听to all of the campus on Dec. 4, so act now!
