The Ad Hoc Inclusive Culture Committee is seeking two undergraduate student volunteers to serve and contribute to crafting and adding language to the College of Engineering and Applied ScienceÌýrules for the establishment of an Inclusive Culture Council. The ICC will be responsible for providing strategic leadership for cultivating an inclusive, equitable, culturally competent and supportive environment in the college. Other duties of the ICC will include:Ìý

• Counseling and making recommendations to the dean and senior leadershipÌý
• Acting as a catalyst for fostering cultural change within the units, departments and programs
• Monitoring progress towards equity, diversity and inclusionÌýgoals and recommends policies, procedures and accountability for results achieved
• Amplifying evidence-based strategies to address justice, diversity, equity and inclusion to improve the recruitment, retention and overall culture for underrepresented faculty, staff and studentsÌý
• Advising respective units, departments and programs on equity, diversity and inclusion activities

Volunteers must be able to commit to the following:

• Attend one-hour biweekly meetings
• Be an active participant in efforts to formalize processes and strategies to support EDI cultureÌý
• Inform student leaders and peers of college EDI initiatives

In each of the four Demystifying Entrepreneurship workshops, you will ll work with a professional who’s an expert in the field, from prototyping to marketing.Ìý

In theÌýintroductory session, we’ll give you the basics—how do you lookÌýat the world’s most pressing problems and turn them intoÌýopportunities?ÌýWhat do you do when an idea grows into more than a thought, and starts toÌýbecome an itch to do something?

We will give you the framework for turning ideas into action—and moreÌýimportantly, figuring out whether you’ve got an idea worth pursuing, all over Zoom. You can drop into any one workshop or attend them all.ÌýPlease note, you do not have to attend one session in order to attendÌýanother. Please come to whatever interests you that works with your schedule!
