BSI Scholars is a funding and professional development program forÌýcurrent CU Boulder undergraduates. Eligible students conducting original STEM research are paid to work in a laboratory on the CU Boulder or CU Denver Anschutz Medical Campus. Students also attend seminarsÌýto enhance the research experienceÌýand summarize their findings through a presentation at the end of the term. Applications for summer 2021 will open this month.

BSI has a team of undergraduate researchers that can meet with students one-on-one to offer advice and support. 1) Transportation Management Project

The objective of this project is to continue the development of a 5-yearÌýstrategic transportation plan for the I-25 Technology Corridor that considersÌýbusiness and residential expansion as well as possible traffic disturbancesÌýcaused by major events and catastrophic accidents.

2) Business Innovation ProjectÌý

We will explore how the Gustave A. Larson companyÌý— aÌýheating, ventilation,ÌýairÌýconditioning, and refrigeration businessÌý— isÌýaffected by marketplace trends, disruption, digital commerce, and the impactÌýofÌýtechnology, social movements, new learning methods on workers and businessÌýoperations. The team will then develop recommendations for Larson to offerÌýnewÌýgame-changing services and compete as a digital business.

The U.S. Department of Commerce’s Ìýis seeking enthusiastic undergraduate students to apply to the agency’s premier Summer Undergraduate Research Fellowship (SURF) Program.

As SURF participant, you will train under the mentorship of internationally known NIST scientists and engineers, acquire lifelong leadership and analytical skills, build professional networks, and learn about a career in public service.Ìý

The Ìýwill award several scholarships to students pursuing a bachelor's degree in engineering for the 2021-22 academic year. The foundation supports and promotes education in engineering in Colorado by raising awareness of consulting engineering as a career choice.Ìý

McNair Scholars Program application deadline

TheÌý2021-22 McNair Scholar applicationÌýis now open to all eligible sophomores and juniors at CU Boulder.ÌýThe two-year program isÌýdesigned for undergraduates from underrepresented backgrounds whoÌýare committed to attending graduate school. Information sessions will be held on Jan. 13, 14, 19, 20 andÌý22.

UROP research grant applicationÌýdeadline
Feb. 12

Students from any major can now applyÌýfor grants of $1,000 to $3,000 to assist with research projects through theÌýCU Boulder Undergraduate Research OpportunitiesÌýProgram for summer 2021 and the 2021-22 academic year. Applicants may assist a faculty mentor with an existing project or develop an original proposal.Ìý
