Consider nominating a fellow student who is graduating with their bachelor鈥檚 degree in December 2023 for a College of Engineering and Applied Science award!听 These eight undergraduate awards bestowed at graduation represent the values of the college and promote important themes among the student body.

Please review the criteria associated with each award and consider entering a nomination by Friday, Oct. 13 (self-nominations are not allowed).听 If the nominee wishes to be considered for a particular award, they will need to provide further materials to complete their nomination.听 Awardees will be notified by early November.

DGC Demo Day is a chance for students to visit the DISH Grand Central location in downtown Denver and hear from different teams about the innovative work being accomplished. Each team will prepare a 20-minute presentation accompanied by a demonstration. DISH will provide transportation assistance for the afternoon from the CU Boulder campus to downtown Denver, as well as lunch. 鈥淚'm a biomedical engineering major on the pre-med track with a focus on biomechanics, and I am currently pursuing minors in biochemistry and engineering management. When I first got to CU, I felt completely lost and didn't know where to start when it came to asking for help since I found the information overwhelming. I've encountered some daunting obstacles at CU. I wanted to be a Peer Academic Coach to help connect students to useful resources and reassure them that it gets better! I enjoy hiking, reading, drinking tea, and taking my dog, a 4-year-old goldendoodle named Cody, to the park. The CUbit Quantum Education Undergraduate Advisory Council is a small group of undergraduate students who will collaborate with faculty, researchers, and administrators to enhance and expand quantum education initiatives at CU Boulder. This council will play a pivotal role in guiding the development of quantum courses, resources, and programs to ensure that our university serves the needs of undergraduates interested in quantum education and careers.

If you are interested, please submit your application by Wednesday, Oct. 4, and include the following.

• A current resume or CV
• A brief statement (250 words or less) explaining why you are passionate about quantum education and what unique perspectives or skills you would bring to the council.

Innovative problem-solving starts with identifying the right problem to solve. Learn the process highlighted in human-centered design to reframe and solve all sorts of problems in creative ways. In this workshop, you鈥檒l get another tool in your problem-solving toolbox: how to think outside the box to better understand your problem, your user, and your assumptions. You will work through the human-centered design process and design something to meet your user鈥檚 needs.
