Consider nominating a fellow student who is graduating with their bachelor鈥檚 degree in December 2023 for a College of Engineering and Applied Science award! These eight undergraduate awards bestowed at graduation represent the values of the college and promote important themes among the student body.

Please review the criteria associated with each award and consider entering a nomination by Friday, Oct. 13 (self-nominations are not allowed). If the nominee wishes to be considered for a particular award, they will need to provide further materials to complete their nomination.听Awardees will be notified by early November.

DGC Demo Day is a chance for students to visit the DISH Grand Central location in downtown Denver and hear from different teams about the innovative work being accomplished. Each team will prepare a 20-minute presentation accompanied by a demonstration. DISH will provide transportation assistance for the afternoon from the CU Boulder campus to downtown Denver, as well as lunch. Join them to learn about all of the exciting opportunities at DISH Grand Central!

Peer academic coaches are upper-class undergrads who have a passion for helping others. They undergo extensive, ongoing training by professional academic coaches. Meet this year鈥檚 coaches 鈥� next up is Sandra!

鈥淚 am majoring in aerospace engineering and minoring in engineering project management. I wanted to be a Peer Academic Coach because I think it is important for students to have people to talk to and encourage them. Half the battle in overcoming obstacles is building the proper skill set and mindset, and I think academic coaching is a great avenue for developing those tools. I鈥檓 excited to help students cultivate individualized work ethics and processes which will help them in various parts of their lives. Bust out of your usual way of thinking - learn the design thinking process and mindset to tackle problems from a fresh perspective! Innovative problem-solving starts with identifying the right problem to solve. Learn the process highlighted in human-centered design to reframe and solve all sorts of problems in creative ways. In this workshop, you鈥檒l get another tool in your problem-solving toolbox: how to think outside the box to better understand your problem, your user, and your assumptions. You will work through the human-centered design process and design something to meet your user鈥檚 needs.
