Are you looking for a job or internship? Explore the exciting world of startups at the virtual Startups2Students event this week. You will have the opportunity to hear startups pitch their companies and open projects, internships and jobs. Afterwards, you can choose to meet with employees at the startups and learn how you can get involved with what they are doing.

Robin Wall Kimmerer, a scientist, member of the Citizen Potawatomi Nation and author of Braiding Sweetgrass: Indigenous Wisdom, Scientific Knowledge and the Teachings of Plants, will speak in the on Dec. 1. Doors open at 10:30 a.m. and the event begins at 11 a.m. The free event is part of the Buffs One Read, a campus-wide program produced by University Libraries and Student Affairs that builds community through the shared reading of one book.

December 1 is the application deadline for several summer 2023 study abroad programs:

• : This is GT鈥檚 French campus, which offers a full summer term (9+ credits) of engineering, computing, and H&SS coursework.
• : These are CU鈥檚 faculty-led programs designed for CU students. Earn 3-6 credits in a wide variety of subjects and locations.

Most other summer 2023 program deadlines are March 1.

Register now for spring 2023 Global Intensives (GIs) in Italy. GIs are CU Boulder-taught courses that include a 9-12 day international component in May. Contact the course instructor to enroll.

CU Engineering students Fenny, Yaashia, Shreeya, Nikhitha, Praneetha, Meghana and Manjiri celebrate Diwali on Oct. 24. 鈥淒iwali/Dipawali is the festival of lights and is celebrated all over India and is India's biggest festival. This festival is celebrated by lighting clay lamps and creating design patterns called rangoli on the floor using colored powders. This festival is celebrated as a symbol of victory of light over darkness and good over evil. During Diwali, originally a harvest festival, lamps are lit to celebrate the triumph of light over darkness, good over evil, and knowledge over ignorance. Families gather, fireworks are set off, candles and oil lamps are lit, and prayers for prosperity are offered to Lakshmi, the goddess of wealth.鈥�

This event will provide education on the issue, testimonies from families with missing and murdered relatives, and discussion of how to frame the issue through effective and respectful language.
