Study at Georgia Tech鈥檚 French campus this summer
The first summer study abroad deadline is just around the corner:听apply by Dec. 1听to ensure you have your pick of听鈥檚 suite of听!听
GTL is located in northeast France in the city of Metz, near the junction of France, Germany听and Luxembourg. The city has a rich, 3,000-year history of cultural and architectural significance, and in modern times, the region has distinguished itself as a European research hub. Metz is fittingly nicknamed 鈥淭he Green City鈥� with extensive open grounds and public gardens.听
罢丑别听听campus is located in a modern setting on the outskirts of Metz, less than a 90-minute train ride from Paris. As a satellite campus for Georgia Tech, the university boasts strong academics, especially in electrical and computer engineering, computer science, and mechanical engineering. Some aerospace courses are also offered, and students can also study French and other humanities & social sciences coursework. Engineering and computing courses are all taught in English.
Popular summer engineering and computing courses include:

- Digital Design Laboratory
- Signals & Systems

- Thermodynamics
- Fluid Mechanics
- Physics II
- Statistics
The program is 12 weeks long, allowing students to earn 10-12 credits. Students are housed in residence halls with a mix of U.S., French, and international students, providing a highly immersive experience. In addition to summer, students can spend the fall or spring semester studying at Georgia Tech-Lorraine.

The Idea Forge would like to give a shout-out to the听,听which has been diligently (and safely!) working in-person on their submarine and has entered the 2020 National RoboSub Competition. They have been extremely communicative and safe, and we commend their ability to adapt to the challenges brought on by the pandemic.听We want to especially thank them for following social distancing guidelines, wearing masks, and sanitizing all of the surfaces they use, helping us keep the Idea Forge safe. We appreciate the team鈥檚 dedication to Protecting Our Herd and can鈥檛 wait to see what they accomplish this year.
