Fivefaculty in the College of Engineering and Applied Science at CU Boulder have earned Fulbright Fellowships in 2023 around critical topicareas such as air quality, renewable energy, and climate.The Fulbright U.S. Scholar Program offersopportunities to teach, research and conduct professional projects in more than 135 countries and to expand American partnerships and share knowledge. ​Recipients are selected on the basis of academic and professional achievement, as well as ademonstrated leadership in theirfield.

Professor Rajagopalan Balaji will use the Fulbright-Kalam Climate Fellowship to explore the intricate interplay between monsoonal climate and public healthon the Indian subcontinent. He will work withthe Indian Institute of Technology, Hyderabad, as well as Gandhinagar, Roorkee and Ashoka Universities.
