Since 1991, the has been providing to women pursuing doctoral degrees at U.S. colleges and universities. Recipients of the merit-based awards are chosen for their ability to make 鈥渟ignificant contributions in their chosen field of study,鈥� as well as their demonstrated leadership capabilities.
This year, two CU Engineering students received this prestigious award, earning around $15,000 each to support their academic pursuits. 听听
Kate Doubleday
Kate Doubleday is pursuing her PhD in electrical engineering, with a focus on power systems engineering. Her research is intended to help electric utilities make decisions more confidently when it comes to integrating renewable energy into the power grid.
Camila Uzcategui听
Camila Uzcategui听is a student in the Materials Science and Engineering Program, where she works to create structures that mimic body tissues using biomaterials and 3D printing processes. She built a high-resolution digital light projection 3D printer that fabricates scaffolds, which can then be filled with stem cells for tissue engineering and regeneration.
