Spending the summer after your first or second year studying abroad is ideal timing so that you're well-prepared to apply for internships after your junior year (otherwise, you may have to choose between the two options). Global Seminars and Other Summer Programs
A world of global engineering awaits through CU-taught global seminars, including four designed exclusively for engineering students:
- 聽(Rome, Italy). No prerequisites. Earn upper-division H&SS credit.
- 聽(Vienna, Austria). No prerequisites. Earn upper-division H&SS credit.
- 聽(Xi鈥檌an, China). No prerequisites. Earn upper-division H&SS credit.
- 聽(Paris, France). Prerequisites: CVEN 3525 or MCEN 2063 or ASEN 3112.
Hone your global savvy and cross-cultural competency with the聽. This minor doesn't聽add many additional credits to your graduation plan, as most of the required courses can also be used to satisfy your existing H&SS and tech elective requirements. Courses include:
- HUEN2843: A Global State of Mind (offered spring 2019)
- Completion of the 2000 level of a foreign language
- Two global perspective courses (these can also satisfy H&SS requirements)聽
- One regional/local perspective course related to your chosen foreign language (this can also satisfy H&SS requirements)
- One globally-oriented tech elective
- Global experience (fulfilled by studying abroad or equivalent experience)

The GO Scholarship聽is now open and accepting applications!聽The Global Opportunity (GO) Scholars program works with students from CU's聽LEAD Community to聽reduce聽financial barriers to studying abroad and to聽provide support throughout their time at CU. Students can earn up to $5000 for a program abroad聽that can be used at any point during their degree program.聽Note that this scholarship is only for first-year students.
