Join CU professor Victor Saouma for an unprecedented learning experience in Paris, France this summer.
You and a group of CU Engineering students will go beyond the rectilinear realm of classical structural analysis to explore the beauty of curvilinear or more complex iconic shapes. Emphasis will be placed on a rigorous, mechanics-based development of theory. Then, simplified analysis methods will be developed and applied. The course will focus on iconic structures including the Eiffel Tower and the Louvre. You will be using exclusively analytical solutions (i.e. no finite element analysis).
Prerequisites (to be completed by the end of this semester): CVEN 3525 or MCEN 2063 (or equivalent with consent of instructor)
Apply for this Global Seminar by Friday, Feb. 1
