This all-day event will be held on campus, and invitations will be sent over the next few weeks to all eligible new staff that have started in the college since the last orientation in mid-February. Additional support is available in the online Cornerstone Knowledgebase, which provides step-by-step guidance. The CEAS Dean鈥檚 Office HR team will provide additional sessions to support you through this first year. Invitations for those sessions will be coming soon.

Associate deans Alaa Ahmed, Amy Javernick-Will and Wil Srubar; department chair Ryan Hayward; and program directors Mike Hannigan, Angela Bielefeldt and Mindy Zarske will step into their new roles on July 1.

The campus offers free and confidential counseling for faculty and听staff through the听. Please reach out (303-492-3020 or via the FSAP request form)听if you would like to explore these services.

Employee Services will soon debut a new tool that allows employees using听, FMLA and Parental Leave to more easily manage their leave, and allows their supervisors and department HR contacts greater insight into open cases for their direct reports.

New self-service portal user guides will help with learning to navigate the new system. These guides walk through the login process as well as instructions for navigating several steps of the leave request, management and reporting process with screenshots to help locate each tool.

2. The听 helps manages, supervisor and HR partners navigate their own leave and their employees.

Funds exhausted for remaining part of FY

Funding has been exhausted for the remainder of the fiscal year for awarding professional development funds from the college. For professional development funding of the remainder of the current FY, please work with your unit leadership to explore opportunities.

FY 2024-25 funding applications open July 1

CEAS HR will start accepting applications for professional development funding in July until all the funds have been exhausted from the FY24-25 budget. Funding of up to $500 per staff member per fiscal year is available on a first-come, first-served basis.

The Environmental Engineering Program is extremely grateful to Kayla Boster for her dedication and expertise. Not only is her knowledge of finance and operations unmatched, she also takes personal ownership of these matters for EVEN and always volunteers to help. In this past year, Kayla played a particularly important role, going far beyond the call of duty to voluntarily assume extra responsibilities while we were between Program Coordinators. Thank you so much, Kayla, for all that you do for EVEN.

I would like to congratulate the entire CU Engineering community for the awesome events highlighting senior capstone projects, including the Engineering Projects Expo, Smead Aerospace Symposium, Integrated Design Engineering Expo, and the ATLAS Institute Expo! The student projects were amazing and well supported by our excellent faculty and staff, and the events were well planned and seamless. The ITL Program hosted its annual student staff celebration on reading day. This spring, the ITLP celebrated nine graduating student staff who invested a combined 55 semesters during their time at CU to support hands-on engineering education in CEAS.

A stay interview is an easy-to-use tool to uncover, anticipate, and resolve issues and concerns with employees to prevent them from leaving the organization. This workshop is intended for supervisors who want to implement proactive strategies for retaining their employees.听
