Meet the 2022 leadership team.
Elizabeth Eyeson

Elizabeth Eyeson is the co-President of CU NSBE and is a junior studying Computer Science. She is a Norlin, BOLD and NACME Scholar and is a member of the Computer Science Departmental Action Team and CU Women In Computing. She has also contributed to research at NIST’s Public Safety Communication Research Division through the NIST Professional Research Experience Program. In her free time, Elizabeth enjoys playing piano, listening to podcasts and drawing.
Ahmed Ashmaig

Ahmed is the co-President of CU NSBE. He is a junior studying Mechanical Engineering with a minor in Engineering Management. He took the fall 2021 semester off to co-op at Tesla in Fremont, CA as a process engineering intern. He’s also a BOLD Leadership scholar, Sachs Scholar, and the NACME ambassador of CU Boulder’s campus. In his free time, Ahmed enjoys working on cars, taking road trips with friends, and playing basketball.
Halima Afrah

Halima serves as the Program's Chair of NSBE. She is a senior majoring in Computational Mathematics with a minor in Sociology. She tutors young children in math and computer science during the academic year. She is a Daniels Fund and Dell Scholar. Halima has completed sociological research this past summer through UROP. During her free time, Halima loves to read books, play tennis, and travel.

Challenge Course
NSBE members participated in a Challenge Course to kick off the school year. It was a fun team building activity that allowed us to connect with one another. We were able to cheer each other on, while also sharing a laugh whenever someone fell.

L3Harris Professionalism Event
L3Harris is an American technology company, defense contractor, and information technology services provider. Two of our executive board members, Ahmed Ashmaig and Sara Elbashir, had the opportunity to intern with them last summer as manufacturing and quality engineering interns. They shared their experiences with NSBE members, and younger students were able to network with L3Harris employees and recruiters.

Financial Literacy with Wealthwave
Wealthwave is a global Financial Literacy Company that provides top notch financial education, planning and resources. They came in to speak with NSBE members about the importance of financial literacy and money management. We learned about interest rates, high-yield savings accounts, and the different types of investments. We ended the night with some food and networking.
