PhD, Boston University, 1992, is a professor specializing in industrial organization. His research interests center around pricing, consumer search, vertical organization, intellectual property and innovation, law & economics, and antitrust. With over 60 journal articles, he has contributed to the economic analysis of a variety of topics, including dynamic price discrimination, product differentiation and price competition, product bundling, competitive effects of vertical merger, the legal and market determinants of innovation, and the operation of online markets with consumer search. He is an associate editor of the RAND Journal of Economics, and he served as a co-editor (2011-12) and managing editor (2013-19) of the International Journal of Industrial Organization.
