April 2024 Digital Accessibility Buff Award Winner

Kevin was nominated due to his efforts to implement and stress the importance of accessibility when designing CU’s digital assets, most notably, CU’s core content management system. Kevin actively pursues and educates others on accessibility when new features or design elements within the CU Boulder web spaceÌýare brought to his attention. Kevin’s focus on accessibility has made others he works with realize the importance of accessibility. Kevin regularly helps others find ways to ensure the accessibility of their digital spaces without sacrificing aesthetics, dynamic components, and engaging content. Kevin has shown others that making accessible sites doesn’t mean one has to create overly simple, static environments. Still, he has also made it clear that if something can’t be made accessible, it shouldn’t be included in a design or development.
