Alexander Verbeek is a Dutch environmentalist, editor of The Planet newsletter, public speaker and podcaster. He is a former diplomat and former strategic听policy advisor听at the Netherlands Ministry听of Foreign Affairs. For 30 years he has worked on international security, humanitarian and geopolitical risk听issues,听and the听linkage听to the Earth's听accelerating听environmental crisis.听
Verbeek works internationally as an expert speaker and advisor听with governments, the U.N., companies, NGOs and academia on planetary change and as a communication advisor.听
He is also policy director at the Environment & Development Resource Centre in Brussels. In 2014 he became听a World Fellow at Yale University. Verbeek has been an associate or fellow at a number of international think tanks and is still active as associate fellow at the Geneva Centre for Security Policy.
