Seeking CU Designers: CU Engage Announces Art and Design Challenge
CU Engage is looking for student artists and designers to submit their ideas for a new graphic to explain CU Engage's work. Submissions are due April 1, 2016 and the winner will receive a $100 Visa gift card and be named in a press release from CU Engage.
"This challenge is a win-win," explains Jennifer Ciplet, Manager of Communications for CU Engage. "The winning student will have an awarded design to add to their portfolio, along with a press release and a $100, while CU Engage will gain a visually-impactful way of explaining our misison, values and work."
Currently, CU Engage's model of community-based learning and research is explained with a flow chart that might not be most effective at attracting new students, faculty, community partners.
"We know that CU Boulder has very talented art and design students, and we believe one or more of them will help us design a visual graphic that explains our work more effectively. The purpose is to show what we do, how we do it, and generate interest in our programs from new people," noted Ben Kirshner, Faculty Director of CU Engage.
The Art & Design Challenge is open to all CU Students. The winning design could be an animated short video, a slideshow, a graphic cartoon, or…? Creativity is encouraged!
The winning design and artist will be featured on the CU Engage website and possibly print materials.
Submissions should be sent to jennifer.ciplet@colorado.edu on or before April 1st. Please contact Jennifer Ciplet with any questions.
