I worked at Kansas State University in Manhattan, Kansas for over 12 years. I started as an accounting specialist in the Bursar’s Office and departed as the assistant vice president for operational strategy. I’m passionate about higher education, specifically the role we have in developing leaders for the future.ÌýI’m lucky to be able to support that mission in my work and look forward to continuing that effort at CU Boulder.

What has been a proud moment for you in a previous role?

I was hired as the founding director for shared services. When I began, the department had just one employee. Over four years, I expandedÌýthe department to a team of 30 employees. Developing continuous process improvement, providing high-quality service, and supporting the success of my team brought me great joy and pride!

What do you like to do in your free time?

I love to travel.ÌýIÌýtry to take an international trip at least once a yearÌýwhen we’re not in COVID times. I enjoy spending time with my family, including our two cats, Kinnick and Thor. I also like hiking, biking, kayaking and baking.

Can you tell us more about one of your adventures?

We recently took a two-week trip to Alaska where we had an amazing time! I hiked on several glaciers, made it to the top of the Harding Icefield Trail, and saw all of the wildlife on my southern Alaska bucket list.
