This course covers fund accounting at a very high level. This includesÌýthe most common fund types we use at CU, the sources and uses of the money in these different funds, and some of the restrictions on the use of these funds based on the source.



This course introduces the systems used to record the financial impacts of the university’s operations. Each system is specialized and necessary, yet not sufficient on its own to fulfill our stewardship obligations.

The Campus Controller’s Office is offering two initial courses as part of the new financial onboarding and training program:ÌýCU: Accounting Overview and CU: Financial Systems Overview.

These courses are designed to meet the needs of new university staff and staff members new to a financial role.ÌýThe goal is to help employees understand their fiscal roles and responsibilities through financial training to continuously improve our financial processes.Ìý
