Chris WrightChris Wright joined the CU Boulder’s Budget and Finance team as the director of capital finance on Jan. 19. As part of his role at CU Boulder, he will provide leadership in capital finance, strategic capital budget allocation, cash management and stewardship of external debt.

Wright previously served as the assistant superintendent of business services for Carlsbad Unified school district in California where he was responsible for leading all business services for 15 schools (K-12). Part of this role included the development of a facilities master plan to modernize every district facility and managing the sale of general obligation bonds for the district’s construction program.

In addition, Wright has an extensive background in senior leadership positions in the public and private sector, with a wealth of financial, operations and facilities experience. He is a retired naval officer with 20 years of active and reserve duty. Wright has a bachelor’s degree from the United States Naval Academy and a Master’s of Business Administration from San Diego State University.
